Meet our hard-working committee

Wondai Garden Expo Inc is managed by an independent incorporated Committee  comprised of members of Wondai District Garden Club Inc and other interested community representatives. It is a tribute to the Committee and supporters that Wondai Garden Expo has had such a long history of success, being second only to the Agricultural Shows in its longevity and we owe a heartfelt thank- you to the large body of volunteers who turn up for each event to make it the best that it can be.

• How long have you been a part of the Wondai Garden expo?

I have been a member of the Wondai Garden Expo for around 7 years.

• What made you want to be involved?

The expo allows me to participate in a community group as well as enjoy one of my hobbies (gardening).

• What is your favourite thing to do at the expo?

I really enjoy the whole atmosphere of the Expo, especially talking with the stall holders and patrons and since becoming the President last year, growing the Expo and promoting Wondai and the South Burnett.

• What is your best green thumb tip?

I can't proclaim to be the best gardener. My tip would be to try different plant and ornamental arrangements, if it doesn't work, try something else. Just get out into your garden and enjoy it.

• How long have you been a part of the Wondai Garden expo?

Feels like forever but at least 10 years and intend to keep going as long as I can.

• What made you want to be involved?

I have always enjoyed all things to do with plants and people and it’s a great twice-yearly event for our little township it brings visitors from all over... Also, financially it’s great for the local businesses.

• What is your favourite thing to do at the expo?

Mixing with likeminded people and learning new garden tips, not to mention new plants to take home!

• What is your best green thumb tip?

Just keep on working and doing what you love. We cannot fight mother nature so may as well do the best we can.

• How long have you been a part of the  Wondai Garden expo?
 
7 exciting years!
 
• What made you want to be involved?
 
I though it would be a great way to get involved with the Community and to be around people that love plants and gardening, but also all the other wonderful things that you can do that are centered around your garden.
 
• What is your favourite thing to do at the expo?
 
Talking to people! We always have so many people that come to our Region for the Expo, and it's so nice to chat with them and hear their tales about gardening and the joy it brings them.
 
• What is your best green thumb tip?
 
I like to hand water, deeply at the roots and around the waterline of my plants so that they get a good drink rather than a splash around the leaves from the sprinkler.
